Hollie Cook’s Tropical Pop could be one of the year’s highlights …

…sagt John Kennedy (XFM) und Mojo nennt das Debut von Hollie Cook „An enticing mix of sun-kissed lovers rock and girl group sounds“. Ihre neue Single ‚Walking In The Sand‘, im Original von den The Shangri-Las wird u.a. von Steve Lamacq/BBC und David Rodigan im Radio gepusht. Alles absolut zu Recht, wie ich finde:

Walking In The Sand by Hollie Cook

Die Musikalität wurde Hollie Cook bereits in die Wiege gelegt:

Hollie Cook was born and bred in West London in a household dominated by music – with Sex Pistol Paul Cook as her dad, music was always around.
Hollie has been a permanent fixture in the reformed Slits, performing live and writing and recording for their most recent album. She’s also collaborated with artists such as Jamie T, Ian Brown and most significantly Prince Fatty on his underground reggae hit Milk & Honey which which received airplay across BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, XFM, KissFM and even ended up on the TV show Grey’s Anatomy.

Ihr von Prince Fatty produziertes Debutalbum erscheint am 6. Juni. Daraus ‚That Very Night‘ und ‚Milk & Honey‘:
