Nach über 200 Veröffentlichungen in den letzten 20 Jahren ist es an der Zeit, eine Party zu feiern.
1996 gründeten Pete Rivera und Mr. Mellow das Label Lounge Records in ihrer Homebase, der Lounge. Den sagenumwobenen Club in einer Seitenstraße der Reeperbahn gibt es schon seit langer Zeit nicht mehr, Lounge Records jedoch hat sich hat sich mit den Schwesterlabels Légère Recordings und MUTO zu einer profunden Hamburger Independent-Institution entwickelt.
Aus dem Souterrain-Office in Eimsbüttel werden LPs, CDs, 7inches, 12inches und digitale Veröffentlichungen aus den Genres Funk, Soul, Jazz und Electro um den Globus geschickt. Es gab vier wunderbare Compilation-Serien (Music For Modern Living, Come On Soul, For Adults Only, Club Tikka), die Künstler des Labels touren um die ganze Welt (The New Mastersounds, The Mighty Mocambos, Myles Sanko, Torpedo Boyz) und es wurden rare Aufnahmen aus vergangenen Jahrzehnten offiziell wiederveröffentlicht (The Last Generation, Angelo Tinsley, Jay W. McGee).
Am 19. März 2016 laden Mr. Mellow und Pete Rivera ins Knust, um die letzten zwei Dekaden Revue passieren zu lassen. Es gibt Funk, Soul, Disco und Beats non-stop – sozusagen: Something For Everyone! Weitere Infos gibt es hier.
