„Manche Leute sind möglicherweise der Ansicht, dass ‚Underdog‘ ein negativer Begriff ist, doch für mich ist es ein kraftvolles Wort, das Menschen repräsentiert, die vielleicht unterschätzt werden, sich aber immer wieder Herausforderungen stellen und Erwartungen übertreffen. Ich liebe dieses Lied so sehr, weil es um das wahre Leben, echte Menschen und unsere Erfahrungen geht. Wir waren alle in unserem Leben schon in Situationen, in denen wir Widrigkeiten meistern mussten.
Es ist nie einfach. Einer meiner Lieblingstexte in dem Lied lautet:
